What we do

The health and wellbeing board's vision is 'to improve health and reduce health inequalities for the whole of Rotherham.'

The board’s main responsibilities are to:
  • Understand the health and wellbeing needs of Rotherham, which is done through coordination of the local Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)
  • Develop a plan to ensure services in Rotherham meet the health and wellbeing needs of local people. This is done by implementing and monitoring our Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
  • Engage with local people to ensure health and wellbeing needs are met. This is done through the local Healthwatch organisation
  • Encourage and promote integrated working and commissioning between health and social care through the Better Care Fund
